Painting My Bedroom
My eyes got bored on looking at the “whites” of my room: white walls and white ceilings, with light carpet. Since changing the carpet is quite expensive, I had decided to change the blunt atmosphere of my bedroom by repainting the walls and the ceiling. But painting the bedroom is really that easy…???
^-^ Choosing the theme (colors)
My first step was to choose the colors for my room. Well, Google gave me tons of choices and it really made me sick. I also asked my friends for help. Which is which? I had to choose whether it may be warm or cool; or bright or mute. My first color choices were pink and blue, but lately I was falling for green. But later on, I thought pink and blue were so common, and the room will kind a look like a baby’s room. And about the green, its better in bath or in the kitchen. So I have to pick another color. Finally, I end up on the royal color: purple and had yellow and green as complimentary colors. Since I already had the colors, I had to go to the store to have that semi-gloss paint.
^-^ Preparing the room
Preparing the room was difficult than what I thought. First, I removed the things near the walls and covered those that stay in place; and covered the floor with drop cloth. And the most difficult was putting the plasters on the edge of the walls, ceiling, closet, moldings, window, and the door. I had to do it for the colors not to mix up with the others. And putting all those plasters aligned was really time consuming.
^-^ Painting the room and borders
Painting was the most fun of all. First, I painted the edges using paint brush, then used paint rollers on the wider space. Just filled up all the spaces and let it dry. After the paint dried up, I put the borders on. And it was really hard. Good thing the borders here are already pre-pasted. All I had to do was soak them on the water. ^-^ Retouch Retouch Retouch…. My job was not perfect. Some of the paints leak on the plasters and mixed with other colors. So I got a small paint brush and did the retouching.
^-^ Clean Clean Clean
Clean everything: the rollers and the brushes, clean the floor and arranged the things inside the room. Now I have my purple room. Feels like I’m a princess with the royal color.. hehehe….
Below are pictures of my room: purple on the walls, green on the ceiling, and yellow on the closet and door. I added white on the door and the closet so it wont look really dry.
( anyways, I had my younger brother did most of the painting.. hehehe… he knows the job more.. hehehe… )
